Twilight Hike: Hartland Marsh Preserve
The Waukesha/Milwaukee County Chapter is delighted to be offering a third season of weeknight hikes in 2025. Our September hike will be in the beautiful Hartland Marsh Preserve. We will hike a loop trail, near the Hartland Segment. Stops along the way will include scenic overlooks and, possibly, some brand-new Trail. You will also get to see the recently replaced boardwalk that our dedicated volunteers built during the coldest days of winter, 2025. Wear appropriate footwear and bring a water bottle. Bug spray might be necessary.
Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Please be responsible and clean up after your pet. It is a good idea to bring water for your four-legged pal too.
Look for these phenological events* on this hike: Snapping turtles begin to hatch, Monarch butterflies begin their migration to Mexdico (the only butterfly known to migrate, taking them about 6 weeks, averaging 250 miles/day), Ruby Throated Hummingibrds begin migrating. Full Harvest Moon on the 7th.
