Did you know research by the CDC shows that home modifications and repairs may prevent up to 50% of home accidents among seniors, including falls that take place in older homes? Nearly 90% of older adults want to age-in-place and maintain independence in their homes according to AARP. Shana Lebanowski, Injury Prevention Coordinator will provide a ome safety check list to reduce your risk of injuries due to falls that might cause traumatic brain injury, concussions and hip fractures.
The Western Lakes Fire Department will provide tips on agining in place and keeping your home safe and comfortable through simple modifications to avoid fire hazards.
